Dan will be presenting principles of attachment theory and research
that he actively utilizes to facilitate therapeutic change within family treatment.
These principles, leading to various therapeutic interventions, provide a model
of child and family development that builds upon the original infant-parent attachment
process. This process, in turn, serves as a basis for emotional, social, and
cognitive development as well as more open, varied, and productive communication
patterns among members of the family. The workshop will involve formal presentation,
discussion, videotape, role-play, and handouts.
