"THE BABY SUMMIT:
ANCIENT WISDOM MEETS MODERN SCIENCE"
Part 2
Conference Goals and Objectives
Babies begin in the thoughts, feelings, and bodies of their parents. These earliest beginnings influence the potential and future development of each child. Scientists are just discovering what tribal cultures and traditional peoples have known for centuries. We met in this time and place to listen to the voices that we have not had the ears to hear before and to learn from each other how to provide the best possible outcome for every child. THE BABY SUMMIT brought together honored native-wisdom storytellers with respected doctors, psychologists and scientists. Both the “old ways” and the new have sought to honor babies and children, including the traditional and the sacred. This meeting sought to bring together the past and the future to support parents, professionals, and organizations that work with babies, children and their parents to bring love and peace to our planet.
OBJECTIVES
- To educate and express the research and experience of the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health and its website Birthpsychology.com
- To create a forum for the synthesis of modern and ancient wisdom.
- To honor the background and traditions of each participant.
- To raise awareness of the paradigm shift taking place in the understanding of human development and consciousness.
- To promote reverence for all life in its infinite expressions.
- To learn the safest methods of childbirth that honor both mother and baby.
- To offer those that deal with struggling families and children an evidence-based model for positive intervention.
- To explore the earliest stage of development, not yet recognized in the mainstream, that has a profound effect on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life of a child.
- To create a trauma prevention strategy based on new consciousness.
- To recognize that the newborn babies are our future and how we treat them will determine the quality of future life.
