Robin Grille presents "The Children's Wellbeing Manifesto"
A 15-point manifesto based on successful initiatives tried and tested in many countries. From conception onward, in every stage of childhood, the way we treat children is the most important factor shaping the destiny of our societies. With the knowledge we have today about the primacy of early childhood development, it is paramount to devise and implement social policies that foster urgently needed children's reforms.

Lou Janel Martin presents "Safe Baby Resolution"
The Safe Baby Resolution, co-written by Star Newland and Lou Janel Martin is now Senate Concurrent Resolution 8 making its way through the Hawaii State Senate and House. The measure asks the Legislature to study the early period of conception through infancy as the foundational time for health, wellness, and harmony as well as the origin of a myriad of social and physical concerns of society. The resolution seeks to make gestation and birth gentle, drug-free, and safe for mothers and babies as well as for medical caregivers and society--all parties working together in partnership. (See full text at: www.capitol.hawaii.gov/sessioncurrent/Bills/SCR8_.pdf )

Robbie Davis-Floyd presents "The International MotherBaby Childbirth Initiative: Ten Steps to Optimal Maternity Services."
The Initiative calls global attention to the importance of the quality of the birth experience; the risks to mother and baby from inappropriate medical interventions; and the scientific evidence showing the benefits of optimal motherbaby care based on the normal physiology of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding. Its 10 Steps set the gold standard for excellence and superior outcomes in maternity care.
