20th Anniversary, 11th International Congress 2003
Birth, Brain and Bonding:
The Psychology and Science of Attachment

December 4 - 7, 2003 -- San Francisco, CA

AUDIOTAPES OF THIS CONGRESS ARE AVAILABLE FROM  Gold Key Recordings

Greetings!
The 2003 Congress focused on the combined impact of early developmental and environmental factors on the health of our connections with others.

The quality and continuance of these vital attachments through pregnancy, birth and infancy shape brain development and form a template for later relationships as well as for our psychological and physical wellness.

This Congress examined the full impact of medical management as it relates to the development of the brain, brain function and behavior. It also examined how traditional prenatal/perinatal care and high risk management affect the brain and behavior, attachment, and bonding. Finally, the 2003 Congress highlighted methods of preventing, diminishing and repairing attachment and bonding problems that may occur in traditional high-risk prenatal and intra-partum care..

Objectives of this Congress

  • A deeper appreciation and awareness of the natural birth process
  • Increased understanding and knowledge of attachment and bonding and how it significantly impacts life
  • Increased skills and tools in the areas of enhancing attachment and bonding and working with attachment disorders
  • Learn how brain development in the womb impacts all subsequent relationships
  • Exposure to the leading-edge, emerging science of prenatal and perinatal psychology and how it correlates and reconnects to ancient and intuitive knowledge
  • Networking with creative, like-minded and passionate professionals leading the way to improve maternal and infant care
  • Exposure to top-notch presenters and leaders in the emerging field of pre- and perinatal psychology and health
